The North Shore offers a variety of choices to indulge in various
cuisine. Aside from a few eateries that are scattered along the
Northern coast including stand alone shrimp trucks and fruit stands,
your best bet would be to head to Hale'iwa main street in the
heart of Hale'iwa town.
Ramshackle wooden buildings house dozens of food-serving establishments
offering casual dining, specialty foods, Local favorites, a variety
of international choices at reasonable prices and a relaxed atmosphere.
..maybe the most popular
food item on the North Shore is shave ice (snow cone), freshly shaved
ice drenched in a sweet syrup - lighter and flakier than a snow
cone, Super-fine and soft, this just melts in your mouth.
Syrup flavors include: vanilla, pineapple, watermelon, chocolate,
banana, lime, melona, and many more to quench your tropical taste
buds.

I have been to Matsumoto's to get shaved ice and it is the absolute best. Try it with the beans. Make it a point to go to the North Shore and try this delicious treat...ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING!
